Overview

Concrete That Stands Up to Sulphates

Sulphate resistant cement protects concrete in soil and water rich in sulphates, such as coastal zones, ports, desalination plants and sewage works. Arab Group supplies three Egyptian SRC types to EN 197-1.

SR3 has the lowest C3A content for the most aggressive conditions. The pozzolanic CEM IV/A SRC adds long-term durability with a lower clinker content.

FAQ

SRC Questions

When should I use SRC instead of OPC?

When concrete is exposed to sulphates in groundwater, seawater or soil.

What is the difference between SR5 and SR3?

Both are sulphate resisting. SR3 limits C3A to 3% for the most aggressive exposure; SR5 limits it to 5%.

Is SRC the same as ASTM Type V?

They serve the same purpose. Type V is the ASTM name; SR3 and SR5 are the EN 197-1 names. Tell us which your specification asks for.

Do you supply SRC for projects abroad?

Yes, to any port you need, quoted per order.
